The Broken Knight
By Shreya Sharma
The sky is olive green, Everything is in deep color. The mask worn, slid off in the rain, Darker side I saw still retained.
Wind hurled, hair swept back, rain slant Drenched them, bare faced a true beauty to behold. An unexpected fear hidden in the eyes, Deeper I had dived, more tangled with the mysteries it told.
Pearls dropped from the centre of the soul through the hazel eyes. Pearls of guilt.
Pearls of helplessness.
Pearls of sin.
Damp earthen fragrance fouled by a body decaying from the inside.
Clouds rumbled as loud as the belly of an innocent hungry infant.
Loud enough to be sensed by any living,
But an event the body experienced mourning.
The innate direst thoughts resonate with the surroundings,
A tide raised up so high,
Ready to destroy whatever in its way lied.
Lightning forked, common folks stoked,
Body remained stolid.
The sky is smoky grey, a hint of maroon. Everything is in shallow color. The Body stood still watching the transition. Continuous pour heavier now, Much more heavenly. It picked up the mask, Broken into three for each world. God, Slayers and Mortals. None could fix what had been fated to break down, What is the value of your frown?
Lightning struck the welkin. "Ride the lightning", body declared smugly. Letting go of the cage and ignominy, It gripped onto its black robe. Rose, a knight just born yet ruffian. Ran into directions, without a clue. A dead end and a bruised knee. Fear shone in its eyes. Charm flooded. "Come what may, I was made to stay. Louder than Bombs, today I say I will make my own way!" Little did it know, It was reformed to be broken again.
