The Art of Saying "NO"

A simple word when used with subtlety

Can give you immense power

The power to stand by your conscience

Instead of cooping into a timid cower

Trying to say no is indeed difficult

As people don’t like hearing it at all

This creates a perception in their minds

But you are not obliged to abide by all

Developing this strength to standby,

To speak up when you disagree

Is an attitude that will define your attitude

As nothing in the world comes for free

This practice applies to every connection

Every relation that you want to preserve

Being opinionated isn’t being selfish

It makes you have the power to observe

Observe and differentiate the right from wrong

And stand by what you truly believe

It is the way of being honest to yourself

Rather being stuck to a delusion you weave

Alas! People succumb to the societal norms

Which forces them to be diplomatic

The urge to comply by this archaic practice

Is utterly and unabashedly dogmatic

We however have a handful few…the few souls

We do not care about being judged

They are unstoppable, unmoved by any perception

Nothing that can have their faith smudged
