The Accident

By Mitushi Bhatt

The tires screeched as they tried to brake on the wet road before the car jumped with a loud thump. Sara cursed as she landed and got out.

"Oh God!" She'd run over a cow.

She screamed in fright when someone tapped her shoulder. The man grinned at her and offered to fix her car. He was a mechanic. Twenty minutes later he came back and grinned again.

She turned the key. The car started. "Oh thank God! Thank you so much! How do I repay you!"

"With your life." The man's grin turned manic.
