Tell Them

When they've started their day and called you out, they'll ask you what you did.

After they're done with their chores and routines, after the regularities and tasks, they'll look down on you.

After the day has passed and the night's just beginning to swallow you whole, they'll match your eye, raise their voice and ask you what you did.

When they do, you tell them you fought.

Your own dragons and demons.

The fire and horns burning holes into you.

Tell them you stood up.

Tell them you spoke.

Tell them you fought the duel.

When they ask who you were up against, remember your name.
