Tell Me A Story

I need something new to write about.

Something deeper than love

And sadder than death.

You, perhaps?

Tell me a story that you always

Wanted to shout out,

But never had the right words

Or the right sound.

Maybe a happy beginning with a sad ending?

Or a sad beginning with a happy ending.

Oh!

It's never that simple, is it?

Some say we are metaphors,

One after the other entwined to make stories.

So maybe a story of metaphors.

Maybe the story about the old town,

Where you used to breathe

Fresh air with a smile.

About the ones with the best skies

That kept you awake at two in the morning.

About the one who wrote a thousand poems

But got tired of waiting

Or about the one who wrote the best lines

But never stayed.

Before i go back to writing

Four line cliches about a stranger,

I want to write something new,

Something more poetic,

And deeper than love.

Something sadder than death.

So, tell me a story, will you?
