Teenage
By Saee Pawar
What is it like, being a teen?
I can't quite explain, I mean,
'confused' is a word I can think,
'indecisive' is another which fits the link
Is this what you'd say in a blink?
Making choices is a big task,
'What if I'm wrong?'
Is a question that haunts.
What should be prioritized, needs or wants?
Choose wisely or tolerate the taunts.
If it's meant to be, it will be
Does that mean I stop working harder,
And wait for the universe to take care of me?
Constantly stuck in this state
Should I trust my efforts or my fate?
Think about yourself and you're selfish, narcissist, Care for others and you're taken for granted, treated like a pushover, There's no shortage of these extremes Finding the balancing point is difficult, it might seem, Is it really just an unattainable dream? Emotions are running high? Blame it on your hormones, Your mind suddenly is a hot spot for war zones. Overthink, dissect your thoughts for good measure Or just let it go without any closure? One way or the other, it affects your composure. We're either too young or too old for some things, Innumerable experiences is all this age brings. We're defined by the choices we make We stumble, we fall, many hearts we break It's the age to learn without having any regret. So tell me mate, is all this relatable yet?
