Te Amo Demasiado

Te amaba demasiado para volver.

Me mirabas como si hubiera luz en mí,

Como si mis ruinas todavía pudieran convertirse en hogar.

Y yo te creía.

Porque contigo el mundo dolía menos,

Porque sabía exactamente cómo sacar lo mejor de mí.

Pero yo nunca fui suficiente.

Dime,

¿cómo podrías amar otra piedra en un camino de diamantes?

Me amabas como si yo pudiera salvarte,

Cuando ni siquiera sabía salvarme a mí misma.

Jurabas quererme,

Como si mis manos no estuvieran hechas para destruir todo lo que tocan.

Te amaba demasiado para quedarme.

Te amé más de lo que me amaba a mí misma,

Y por eso tuve que dejarte ir.

Porque merecías unos ojos que brillaran al verte,

De la misma forma en que los tuyos brillaban para mí.

Merecías primavera,

No alguien que siempre lleva el invierno dentro.

Y quizás algún día encuentres a alguien

Capaz de amarte sin miedo,

Alguien que no dude cuando la llamas “amor”.

Ojalá ella pueda darte todo lo que yo nunca supe darte.

Ojalá logre hacer brillar tus ojos como yo nunca pude.

Y todavía te amo demasiado para olvidarte.
