Taandav
By S. Viswanathan
Oh lord of thousand nights,
The dawn shall break soon,
and the world shall wake to
the sleep that lasts
a million many moons.
Sleep, yes, a sleep - that no man
has dared to dream, for in
dreams within dreams
he sleeps,
he weeps,
as fate takes turns till he reeks,
No more!
for the dawn shall blind us all,
Your dance, cataclysmic
shall bind us all.
Fire shall burn like it burns coal,
Wind shall swirl like it swirls dust,
A dance so violent,
that it shall stretch, push, and rip
the whole cosmos like the ocean
does its waves.
A dance so vibrant,
that leaves no space for movement,
no movement in space,
and in that stillness, we shall sleep as one
and dream of many -
Many a stars,
many a planets,
asteroids, and moons,
quarks, gluons, bosons,
and Life too.
Oh lord of thousand nights,
The dawn shall break soon,
Sleep now, sleep now,
in your gentle cocoon.
