Sweet Nothings
By Lahari Shetty
He whispers sweet nothings into her ear
Their bodies still locked in a lovers' embrace
She stirs and opens her eyes from slumber
He pushes strands of hair away from her face
They make mad passionate love to each other
The kind where one forgets the world outside
Where two souls come alive and burn with desire
Where invisible sparks fly as two bodies collide
Their energies spent, they lie on their backs
Giggling and laughing as children would
Wondering at fate that brought them together
Feeling an ecstasy, that only the infatuated could
As if from a distance, they hear a car pull over
They snap out of their reverie, stunned and shakin'
He scrambles out, heading for the back door
To make good his escape, lest the husband walks in....
