Sunsets & Sarcasm
Alina: I bet it has rabies.
Maya: Hogwash! It looks adorable!
Alina: You’re not gonna pick it up, are you?!
Maya: So, what if I do? Hm?
Alina: Did you hit your little head on some wall? I can’t even imagine the number of fleas that must be crawling all over it.
(Alina gags)
Maya: Oh relax! It’s just an animal.
Alina: Uhh no, it’s a WILD animal. I told you to stop watching National
Geographic, now it’s gone to your head.
(Maya scoffs)
Maya: I have an idea!
Alina: No, you don’t.
Maya: Wha-
Alina: I know that look on your face, and whatever it is you’re cooking up, I will not allow you to follow through with it.
Maya: What’s wrong with giving it a name?!
Alina: Maya, I said-wait, a name?
Maya: Yeahhh, are you hard of hearing?
Alina: Oh, I thought you were gonna say that you wanted to take it home, but a name is fine, if you must.
(Maya rolls her eyes)
Maya: Sunset. We’ll call it Sunset.
Alina: Why Sunset?
Maya: Because of the red fur, reminds me of a crimson sunset.
Alina: Speaking of sunsets, there’s one right now.
Maya: Ooh! Let’s go closer and see!
Alina: No! That wasn’t an invitation for you to stay longer, I meant we need to be home unless you want to have a hundred mosquito bites!
Maya: Remind me next time to never step outside the house with you ever again.
Alina: Oh? I’m the reason your life isn’t The Jungle Book.
Maya: Whatever you need to tell yourself Alina.
