Sun In The Cold War

The Guns ’n Roses

Bloodshed and limelight

I see you as you come through

Different cultures and dark alleys

As your face burns and cools

Climate change to the centuries back.

But who am I to say

My pleadings, my thank you-s

The world beneath us lay

Agony and Love

Changing masks as we walk down and down

My Hell and Heaven in the same gaze.

The more of it the darker, anyways

And then I search for you

In the stations and shades of Red

Gray or Black

Illegal and banned, not to forget

Not a degree but a pursuing.

And we walk down in straight lines

Red, yellow, green and the sunlight

As you watch my hair flow

Through the silent World War

Diminishing through and through

Slowly in the heat of power and glory.

Not the National Anthem but the money

And so I tell you to run

Or I devour all your fame

And then we lay down beneath the perplexed earth

Burning in fire, turning to ashes

Waiting for the Ice Age to encrust us.
