Summer's Muse

Summer cracks the egg-shells of winter,
They crackle to yolks of molten light
Dripping through the drifting whispers
Of simmering clouds brimmed in delight.
In early mornings of ripening June,
Zinc-colored heavens corrode to maroon.
Rusting skies shed flecks of dawn
Like glazed gold dust that melt on tongues.
Summer peels off sky’s silver coat
And trades it for sun that buds and blooms
In tones of gold, like petals of rose—
Whilst Summer blushes through flowers’ gowns.
Tendrils of Summer in lavish hues
Limn the world in Summer’s muse.
Who's Summer's muse you do inquire?
Our Souls’ her muse, served to inspire.
