Strung Along

I don’t

believe in karma

in threadspun lies of destiny

fate

faithbound follies

Your strings

unwind and unravel

from unyielding wrists

I wrest control

pull each strand taut

tight

Strained and strung together

Align all your history

of deceptive cruel pleasantries

This horrid tapestry you weave

vivid red masked by humble pink

from a distance

Even now

you deny me dignity

relief

while you slink away

hiding your sins

So I count

Each fiber

And
