Stripped

As we lay under a fluorescent moon

two merging into one,

yielding slow caresses to hunger

knots of the heart undone.

Fierce emotions and trivial words

ripping the cage, free.

Pleasure remains, tangled with pain

vows left fulfilled to be.

Stripped to the bone, let me see you

I'm burning in your touch.

Stripped to the bone, your name my prayer

fingers saying much.

A euphoric high, a grounding hum

time on a standstill.

Love shies hidden under lust's guise

every move under your will.

Slow breaths and frantic paces,

skin with clues of a visit.

Whispered promises of a world met

wrenching me bit by bit.

Doubts of the heart banging loud

dulled by silent cries.

Unanswered questions thudding into walls

until it eventually dies.

When we clamber down, when the moon dulls,

will your mask stay true?

When the sun shows, the world in tow,

would you love me with my clothes on too?
