Strangers

We were strangers when we met

Travelling on the same train for a while

Many passengers came and went

But we stayed on, sharing the joy and miseries of life

It was a short journey but an exciting one

Filled with all shades of grey

Each one of us played our part well

And as the train stopped at every station

My heart skipped a beat

I was afraid of losing you

I was afraid you would leave me just like that

Without turning back

Now I fear your destination is getting closer

And every inch of my being is aching like someone has

Pierced a sword into my body while I am awake

If you hold my hand tight

And just tell me you are here for me

I am ready to stay in this train forever

No matter what weather it is

No matter how tough it gets

I will stand by you to face it
