Stranger On The Cruise
By Shreyash Anand
To my pumpkin,
Hello there sweet one,
I saw you by the jail,
O my! You’re a pretty one,
But your body seems so frail.
Here we are, met by happenstance,
On this mighty sea rover,
We clicked our eyes,
O please never let this be over.
The cloudy weather,
Hiding the monsoon sun,
On the table sat a heather,
Watching us have fun.
An introduction here and there,
Till I gladly get to you,
And My! O My!
You share the same fragrance too.
We sat on the top deck,
Gazing at the sea,
Not giving a care,
About what our lives be.
A couple of drinks here,
A couple of shots there,
We looked for a heaven,
But look, we found it here.
About time we reach land,
Will this time be decided?
As we danced to the music,
All our worries subsided.
O Stranger on the Cruise,
What charm you possess?
To have met with you,
O my, it is a bless.
We part there, good friend,
We exchange our contacts,
But we won’t see each other soon,
Those were the harsh facts.
My! My! What a coincidence it is,
We end up on the same resort,
Now partying till dawn was,
Our one and only sport.
Talking about life,
We get to know each other,
Gazing at the stars,
Our legs in the pool did flutter.
I hope I could write a theme song just for us,
But I am no writer,
Eventually it all came to an end,
When our hearts became lighter.
