Still I Rise

I have been down in the dump,

I have faced many a slump.

I'm not getting old, I'm getting wise,

They keep pulling me down,

But still I rise.

I have seen highs and lows,

Leaps of happiness

But also so many sorrows,

And yet I have been where no man has dared to go.

There's a lot about me that nobody knows.

With each passing day I grow more wise,

They keep pulling me down,

But still I rise.

It is lonely at the top,

But the view is pretty good!

I have climbed a lot of mountains for this,

I'm going to enjoy the mood!

Well wishers I have around the world,

But haters are there too,

I keep pushing daily,

Cause I don't know how to rest too!

With each passing day I grow more wise,

They keep pulling me down,

But still I rise.

I have my people with me,

Even if few,

But they will always be my strength,

They have always been true.

Records are just numbers,

My work speaks for me.

The world is meant for love,

So loving I'll be.

The end is very far,

I still have miles to go.

I'll continue taking new goals,

I'll stop at nothing, you know.
