Eers klein kluitjies

vuil minerale

onder sagte

aarde

versteek –

roue en rein

Tot op ‘n dag

deur gulsige hande ontbloot

aan die wrede-wil van die skaif

Om gesny,

gemaal,

en gekerf te word

Tot ‘n perfekte edelbeeld

Sodat

Hulle deur die Juwelier

Hul plekke kan vind

in

‘n

goue

halsnoer

of

‘n

ring

Selfs die minderwaardiges

soos malagiet

met lae

groen

geskiedenis

Kry hul eie, spesiale, plek.
