Title: Star-Drops and Red Dye

She's been crying droplets of stars

Of love that's not returned.

She thought they were beautiful and blinding, these rainbow star-drops, But her heart sank all the same

By the weight of this love.

Even the bloody trails hurt less

When it's her heart that's breaking.

For it was when she first realized what this endless galaxy meant- That night, staring at her reflection-

It was raining meteor showers.

She tries to hold back these star tears,

But she can feel the explosion of stars.

Piercing her heart and lungs with shards,

Slowly, breathing becomes harder.

Does being in love hurt this much?

There's an entire galaxy in her palms, stained like red dye. Is this how her love will end?

Until she takes her last breath?

Until the last drop falls?

Surely, this love would not fade on its own.

And so, "I love you.

I love you."

She wanted to say,

But she was scared of making it known.

This crazy rush of emotions...

She was already a graveyard of stars and unsaid words.

Falling in love is easy,

But staying is hard

When she's the only one in love.

The bloody proof in her hands,

These star tears-

It's a tragic end, they say.

There is nothing beautiful about this

Unrequited love.
