Stages Of A Broken Poetic Heart
By Madhumita Patil
All kinds of poets in this tiny little world,
Optimists, pessimists, lovestruck, broken.
They leave us with a piece of themselves,
Their emotions spoken.
We read their art and bring to our minds an array of thoughts,
Others, just keep their minds in safety vaults.
A poet, heartbroken, has a stage,
Where he thinks about his lost mate.
He feels so deep, his emotions,
Garnished and served on a plate.
This stage passes rather slowly,
Giving him a lot of time to feel,
Bleeding out love, well, its almost real.
Now this poet has a path to choose,
Fight for the love he wants,
Or cut them loose.
The stage beyond such surrender,
Is where they can’t really find their art,
Words and phrases muffled from the cries of the broken heart.
All you peeps must’ve been where I am today,
Struggling to make sense of this,
Trying to find your own way.
