Spilled Moon
By Daniel Helman Lee
Tumbling tides of dusk
Shore up stars
Swathed in frothy clouds of down,
Simmering in susurrous silence – sounds
Of skies
Combing
Through the last fibered lights
Of gloam.
A moon’s misted breath
Of haloed stars,
The echoed shells
Of skeletal constellations
Roaming realms of ruminations
And brewing divination.
‘Uncork the moon!’
And moonlight spilled;
I take a moment to drink it all in.
A space of silence between
My heartbeats
To distill
The noise of a crowded world,
To hear clearly
What the moon asks of me
And what secrets the moon spilled for me.
