Sorrow And Solitude

I am sinking
beneath the deep sorrows of my life,
Constantly finding a way
to leave it all behind.
One day
I become a radiating ball of sunshine,
singing cheerful songs, telling joyous stories,
and happily dancing in the sunshine.
But the other day
gloominess comes over and
makes me question,
if it even was happiness all along
or just the sorrow disguised as happiness.
Finally, I made up my mind and tried to find
the meaning behind this despair of mine.
Read poetries, Read the books
but no bookish language could
teach me what I was desperately trying to find.
It was then I decided to go
outside and look around,
in a quest to find
questions and their answers.
Maybe laying somewhere in between
mother nature's lap,
I tried and tried and tried
but again couldn't find
what I left home to find.
Tired of searching and distressed
I came by to sit beside a lake
which was flowing in the middle of this dense forest.
With a heavy heart and tired soul
I sat and closed my eyes
just to momentarily fade within this wilderness.
After a few minutes passed
I found myself lost in the serenity around
if it was the gentle flow of the lake
or the breeze which was musically lifting
the dead leaves on the ground,
or the euphony of chirping of the birds
or the greenness all around
but suddenly a calmness came all over my mind.
It was only then I realized
answers can only be find
if you truly know the question.
And to know about the question
one needs to retrospect within.
When we'd learn to spend time In solitude
maybe only then we will learn
to float on the surface rather than
sinking beneath the sorrows of life.
