Sonnet #5 - I'm Okay, Seriously

I’m okay, seriously - I’m not lying.

Smiles run wild amongst thy heartstrings.

And, puff, just like that, gone are the days of crying.

Finally, I can move on from such depressive things.

Happiness is found where sadness used to live,

And darkness now gives way to light.

It’s now within my control to forgive,

And choose peace instead of the fight.

My word, achieving this has taken me ages.

So long, in fact, I’d forgotten the feeling.

And now, it’s the beauty of happiness that fills my pages -

All of this, a part of my long-needed healing.

So, on I go, and try…

To continue telling myself I can believe the above lie.
