Sonnet #2 - Everyone Seems to Leave

Everyone seems to leave in the end,

By choice, or pushed away by my abyss.

My efforts to defend, drain my head,

So I fall, deep, into silence.

Why even bother?

Few would notice my absence.

Perhaps not even my mother.

I often wonder if my being holds any substance.

Add this to the list of grievances,

And file them away, buried deep.

For to most, my struggles are a mere inconvenience;

To them my life barely registers - I’ve accepted defeat.

And thus concludes,

This tragic story I continue to live through.
