Somewhere
By Shaili Rachha
Somewhere, moonlight refracts on the ocean
Past sodden walls and hot concrete mirages
Somewhere, light dances through branches with voluptuous hips
Glittery arrows, milky sunlight warring with leaves
Somewhere; the taste of raindrops sweeter than the grain of a thousand cubes
The frost of chill, jutting icy diamonds blaring louder than any unforgiving siren
Skies so purple and pink, woven into a blanket of willowy, pillowy tufts
Subtle waves find solace in the undulating sea
Tracing a desert from which pearls find their end
Somewhere, beyond this concrete
We quietly bask where youthful dry gold lies condemned.
