Someday

Someday I'll wake up and you'll be all grown,

With a journey and life of your own.

Someday I'll turn and won't see your face,

As you travel the world from place to place.

Someday I'll reach out and you won't be there,

For me to cuddle or ruffle your hair.

Someday I'll look around and you won't be found,

As you conquer the universe and break new ground.

Someday I'll call and you won't reply,

Coz you'll be grown up and off you'll fly.

Someday I won't feel your hugs and kisses,

Since you'll be busy with your own little ‘misses’.

Someday I'll look for my baby boy, my only son;

And in his place I'll see a wonderful man whose life has just begun.
