Soldiers - Sacrifice Thy Name

A heart filled with courage and genuine patriotism,

Blood surging at the cry of any innocent soul,

The passion to serve the nation with rigid determination,

Ideals, discipline, and virtues made of pure gold!

A warrior, a soldier is never defeated – ‘he’ never dies,

It takes utmost courage to put on those uniformed ties!

The valour is unmatched whence the soldier walks out of home,

Leaves back more than a family behind as he steps out alone!

The sacrifice of mind and body is immeasurable, we truly don’t know,

The arduous life of a soldier, in face of constant danger, is worthy of a bow!

From military training to final breath, he leads a life of exemplary respect,

An inspirational life, indeed, how many of us commons can lead, I suspect!

Farewell to our General who made a difference to our pride,

Farewell to other brave hearts who left this world too soon.

Every Indian is thankful to services you render night and day,

With tears in our eyes and words choking in our throats, we have little more to say!
