Soldier: A different Blood
By Halima Bano
In Camouflage clad and dignified blood,
May be few medals and words of praise,
With honor living in freezing heights where no one could trace.
No compensation would fill the void of the brave soul,
Who breath half lived life away from his mother’s veil.
What they do is a pledge allegiance to the Indian flag,
Wishing forever may she wave,
May God bless those brave reaching to is covered in her, The Triclolor!
Through which the freedom we share.
Leaving their loved ones to pay heed country’s call,
They are always ready to place self in menace, willing to give it all,
We will not take granted the lives they share,
Who protect us in our darkest hour.
Through hail, rains, snow, blood , sweat and tear,
Marching ahead into battle heat push aside their fear,
With sleepless nights and endless days,
Bearing blood of patriots, bravery and illuminating light rays,
Oh! We wont be able to repay,
So shall we remain in their debt.
As we were sleeping through the nights,
He woke up to the sound of gunfire knowing this would be his last fight,
Its my job to keep you safe! Said
I am a soldier who will defend until every end!
Though it came at a cost I couldn’t mend.
The other day he writes;
Every-time i get low or hurt,
I remember my wife’s warmth,
Who always stood by my side,
My mothers soft hand who fed me from beside,
My dad’s strong knelt knee who kept me up,
My brother’s hand who walked me to school,
My sister’s glowing eyes who always gave me back,
My daughter’s obstinacy for dolls,
And my son with whom i wud give hundred ground rolls.
If he don’t make home, Remember!
It wasn’t because he didn’t try,
As the last thing he would always wanted was never let you cry,
He had gone beyond to make himself back to you,
But, then there was a job and responsibility he had to do.
You may feel; he broke the vows to be there and wipe your every tears,
But as he gave up his breath, he had just wished you to be there,
Leaving the body a moribund soul speaks;
Forgive me for leaving you soon.
But mu country called, who needed me beyond and till moon
