So Dark

It has been so dark,

Pitch dark, I can’t show you,

The feelings, the words, the faces,

Shining bright outside but so dark inside.

I wanted light, warmth,

I had started to believe, I didn’t deserve,

I stayed in the dark as hiding was better,

Than stepping into the unknown.

It was unimaginable to step outside,

Still scared, of being lonely,

I realised, I can’t see or feel anything in the dark,

Why would I be there anyway?
