Smoke By The Beach

By the beach at witching hour

I watched the thick smoke rise

Leaving the cavity of my lungs

And taking off for the night stars

Before fading into nothingness

Between the silence of a dense fog

I heard the sea call out my name

Her voice soothing my desolate being

And the waves nodding in reassurance

That they will take me to her

Dressed in a white wedding gown

The sea emerged as a lady I once knew

Scaling the distance towards me

With a sinister smile on her face

And a tragic story in her eyes

Like a secret I kept from myself

She grew into a familiar figure

And started running towards me

Then floating right above me

Turning into a patch of smoke

That emerged from my lungs
