SMILING THROUGH THE SILENCE

We smile to friends and families alike,

Doing things we dislike.

The biased success scale of society

Has just given us extreme anxiety.

The endless pressure to excel at all

Has made us oblivious to our inner call.

The unshed tears, the sleepless nights,

Feel heavier than a thousand fights.

The passion you said you’d do “later”

Has left a hole as deep as a crater.

Reaching a place called home:

Living with people unknown.

Strangers coexisting under a roof,

The matching blood being the only proof.
