Smiling In The Rain

Sometimes I want to cry my heart out

Am I cursed or blessed to be feeling things intense?

But then why are things biased

Thorns overpowering the petals

Heavy chest, dark corner

Thoughts muddled, feisty air

I can see myself now, as clear as it will be

But thinking hurts now, so I write

Squinting my eyes, trying to explain

The things that I feel often without anyone to share

My dreams, short lived

My passions, forgotten

My happiness, an illusion

Oh! I just want to cry my heart out

So that this moment passes, however it does

To allow the next one to break me again

But I am helped up, a burden for others

I feel obligated to smile, to dance, to sing

So, I do and the pattern follows
