Smile And Cry

Now the smallest things make me smile

and sometimes even cry.

I reckon the times when I was shy,

people used to strive

to have a glimpse of my smile.

The day arrived when I learnt to smile,

but that day people had forgotten

their ability to be in the good isle.

Today the people are rotten,

mix'd and twix'd in their own goals.

Who is who and what is what,

nobody know their roles.

The unending sufferings of life

have made me ache-proof.

Failed and utterly useless

even Jokes passed through my roof.

The ray of negatives led me finally

to smile with the smallest of joy.

That was a smile

of a little boy

whom I met that day at an airport.

Taller he was than many of the Egos.

It made me cry amidst the grown;

as I thought the God himself chose

him to make me cry and smile.

These little joy and happiness

are what we strive

for in life.

This little boy will soon become like me;

broke and searching for something

to smile and cry.

I wish that day,

He finds not any, but himself

to look upon to smile and cry.
