Sleep Paralysis

Creaking at my door one lonely mid night

Broke my sleep and wonder what it might,

And the lamp that light my room did died

Tis my soul grew heavy and my heart did bite.

Did I had too much to drink?

For to ease my trouble mind yet forever flickering,

Or is it my thoughts that run wild forgetting the order to think

As I sink sick in my cave with a trouble mind desperate to ink.

To ink with a trouble mind the midnight cry unknown

Out of the chamber windows I looked and I behold,

No more then a howling wind did creep my control

And so I mold and rolled in order for my heart to consoled.

Not a star in the sky, not even the moon

Could lit my night, all seem like a tomb

The hour moved slow as my fingers drew a rune

On the walls of my chamber, my mind like a lune.

I went to light the unlit lamp by my bed,

With a million thoughts, my body did dread.

Steps unknown, caving into my senses

Leaving me speechless, causing by soul to break.

The light did glow and lit the room core

More the while my conscious drew sore.

Despite my spirit knows all about my accord

Why do I feel desperate and my life unanchored.

The wind blowing the curtains of my chamber window

Desperate to creep into my senses, to haunt my dreams

Let me sleep in peace before my hour

Let me rest before the winter season arrive.

They call me though the day

They whisper me along the night.

I wish I could kill them, my thoughts

But how can I kill something that isn’t alive?

I grew weary, I stumble on plain ground,

I flee even though no one’s around.

I seek and nothing seems to surround

I fix my face but all falls frown.

My strength is gone, my hand felt heavy,

Time passed fast and my fear became many.

My heart felt scared,

And my hopes unfriendly.

Till the morning comes save my dreadful night,

Come my way oh! my sweet peace, send thee my way,

For my heart longs for thee. Longing for thee to say

“Rest thee from thy sleep rest thee from thy paralyzing dreams.”
