SINNER TO SAINT

It’s been controversial

There is just no rehearsal

From dancing on bar tables

This is not just fables

Books should be written

Man, was I smitten

Kissing boys through burglar bars

Swimming underneath the stars

I used to be carnal

Sold under sin

Pursuing gospel ministers

To addicts of heroin

You can’t fit so many twists in one plot

It’s not advisable

But that’s been my lot

Demons to angels

Sinner to saint

Worldly to divine

Salvation is mine

Life has been as good as it gets

To even facing death threats

‘holy’ war, infidels

Parkour

Hypnotized in my bed

‘sleep’ the astral traveler said

The next few days were a haze

Ended up on a ledge

‘Bout to jump off the edge

From mere mortals

To spiritual portals

The plot thickens

Encountered Lucifer ‘Dickens’

The accuser of the brethren

Trying edgewise to get a word in

The fellow is a true poet

If you’d care to know it

Some claim there is no heaven or hell

But I met Satan in person

And mind you, Jesus as well

The world has been my oyster

Cracked it open

Drank its moisture

Time is tickin’

No time to waste

Multitudes in the valley of decision

Make haste

But my eternity is sealed

In a dream revealed

Better pay close attention

My end is ascension.
