Jingle - Jungle, the bell over my cradle jingles, As relatives rock my cradle while watching barely a couple of months old,

And the old, loquacious Rinki Aunty would pinch my red rosy cheeks,

And Mischievous Sameer nana (Older brother among odia bramhins) would pinch my little nose, Hoping for me to spring upto action,

And I would! To Cry, and create a ruckus,

To swept off the cradle by you, who'd wrap me in her soft arms,

Embrace me and put me in her lap,

Kiss me on my forehead to comfort me,

Because at that the time Nothing in the world made

sense to me,

Only you

who are my world,

And you'd sing me a lullaby,

He is upset).

For me to fall fast asleep.

Tring - Tring, I'd ride my red bicycle, while clicking

on the bell,

Passing through those old mailboxes on our street,

And Slender Rajesh would follow

me on his old blue

bicycle in an attempt to over take me,

While I'd try to overtake stout Shasank who'd be

ahead of me on

his

green bicycle,

When the fires of my bike would skid suddenly and fall I would,

On the tarmac roads to have a big gash on my arm and a cut on my face,

Withholding my fears as boys don't cry, I'd walk to you after Rajesh's father would drop me home after treating my wounds,

And you'd scold me first, later to embrace me,

To kiss my forehead while you'd put me to bed,

Because at that time nobody in this world understood

me,

Only you

who are my world,

And you'd sing me a lullaby,

As Bully Ranjit's Abuses couldn't get into my mind, And Ipsita ma'am did little to intervene in this small "prattle",

"Ha Ha Loser" was the voice which with the class roared,

As I flunked the English Test in grade 9th and had to go to remedial,

As everyone had expected me, a hitherto topper, to

And Topper Sudha's Sniggers did trigger my anger for she had soared,

While Asif Sir roasted me in front of the entire class for being so dumb,

And I saw you getting insulted in the PTM when sir lambasted me,

And I saw you asking me sternly to keep studying hard for her sake,

And would put me to bed whenever I had stayed up

late at nights,

Because at that time I felt the world to be up

When I, a young son of the soil, could stay here and prove his mettle?

And nights of efforts studying the voluminous texts did fail,

And the strenuous physical training failed me as well,

And at the time I thought I was nothing but a failed creation for this world,

But I felt to be at bliss whenever I was with you, my creator,

"I can't be with you anymore" was what she said when she ended the conversation,

In a cold way, she ended our 2 years long relation,

"It's the fact that you forget I even exist in preparation" was what Ruhani said as she walked

away,

"It's the fact that she found solace in Abhijit in your absence" was her best friend's words that broke heart,

And soulless I wandered across college, Only getting burnt in seeing your presence,

Because at that time I felt as if my heart had broken,

But in fact how could it be when I was with you?

"Cadet, Left Right Left" where what the drill instructor's voice roared through at the IMA,

As the rigor of the first few days of Coming here took over the ecstacy of getting selected in the CDS, And the constant faunts by Instructor Kalia kept getting on my mind,

"Was I even worth in the army?", I kept asking myself as I foiled through the dirt,

I'd miss my comfortable mattress and video games in this tough situation,

Because at that time even though the pain of this process was unbearable,

The pain of our separation was what kept breaking

me,

And in your memory, I'd sing to myself a lullaby, "☎Q FIQD1 6MI AQ FIRD1,

"Bang-Bang-Bang", the walls of the corridor

"Boom" as another grenade exploded in order to take

my team out,

who dares attack our nation"

Because at that time I knew I wouldn't be with you in my last breath,

But I'd always visualise you smiling looking at me than crying over my body,

And painfully I'd smile, to sing myself a lullaby, "AQ Q1 6MI AQ AQ1,
