Silver Spoon

Updated: Jul 30

By Jal Naik

As a free bird, I was born,

With opportunities beyond the sky.

I was given all the privileges,

who wouldn't get of my age.

I wish I knew the importance earlier,

Of all the efforts they put on my derriere.

I had all served and feeded in a silver spoon,

It’s such a great boon!

Now alone when I sit;

I began to think,

What all I could’ve done!

Before it was all gone.

It felt to flaunt,

When I was blunt!

Now when I’m sharp,

I began to harp.

Beyond my age I was given,

May it be a two-wheeler or thing that I have even

The only thing they asked was to be

knowledgeable and up-to-date,

I need to give them more

than they deserve in their fate,

All I want is them to be happy.

A true blessing they are to me,

Without them I’d be a caged bird who only sings.
