Silent Tears

To love someone who cannot love you back,
A pain so deep it's a constant attack,
A love so pure, yet so out of whack,
As I grapple with this sorrowful lack.
The heartache of unrequited love,
A burden so heavy, it's like a shove,
A love that's one-sided, like a glove,
That I wear on my heart, unable to remove.
To love someone who cannot return,
A love that's unfulfilled, an endless burn,
A love that's a lesson I'll never learn,
As I hold onto a love that's now so stern.
The sorrow of unrequited love,
A feeling so deep, it's like a glove,
That fits so snugly, like a dove,
As I hold onto a love that's now so tough.
The pain of loving someone who cannot love,
A feeling so raw, it's like a hand in a glove,
A love that's unrequited, like a mourning dove,
As I hold onto a love that's now just a bluff.
To love someone who cannot love in return,
A love that's unfulfilled, a constant burn,
A love that's one-sided, a heart's adjourn,
As I hold onto a love that's now so stern.
The sorrow of unrequited love,
A feeling so deep, like a hand in a glove,
That I wear on my heart, like a mourning dove,
As I hold onto a love that's now just a bluff.
And now I stand with a heavy heart,
Realizing that my love was never in store,
As I try to move on, but feeling like a bore,
Living with the pain that I cannot ignore.
