Silence
By Arnab Banerjee
The Black horse of the long run,
Now rests forever today;
Before tomorrow’s rising sun,
Let’s keep silence, let’s simply not say….
Once a warrior,
Sleeps forever, inside his coffin now;
Over and over the years,
In the battle of life, his sword fell somehow ….
Like a timid ray of a candle light,
Lightens the dark night;
Still, blows out with the daylight,
Like, an senile king, with years of battle and pride….
Can Anyone say?
Why the wars, ought to be laid?
Like a farmer sowing seeds,
Swords shatter lives, in a bloody slay….
Or, Can anyone say?
Why the laments only stay?
While people turn into bones,
Stuffed inside those woods,
Burried underneath, the blood-soaked clay ….
Once a crawling infant,
Now, has many to repent;
Many to sob, many to lament….
With the years that crawled by,
His folded skin did not lie….
Now, that he sleeps tight;
His kingdom, ‘round his pall, stands by ….
Now, why is it all Silent?
Why silence now, has to cut silence?
Why silence, is now the speech?
Why Silent? Why Silence?
Coz, there’s no more words left in speech?
No phrases? No sentence?
Or is it that,
with Silence,
Comes Knowledge;
With Knowledge,
Comes Freedom;
With Freedom,
Comes Peace;
And with Peace,
Comes Silence….
Once a piano, that played touchy tunes, to adore;
The player had passed away, leaving deep sores….
Again, it’s all numb, all silent and no pain;
Silence again defies Silence,
It’s all Silence, Silence and Silence;
Once, all over again….
