Sighs

I've awakened to the brightest mornings,

And slept in the darkest nights.

I've seen the sun-kissed rainbow,

And watched the heavens collide.

I've heard mum's lullabies,

And also her furious screams.

She whacked me blue n kissed my cheeks,

Cuz she wanted I chase my dreams.

Life's been a helluva sweet n sour delight,

I've always taken an eagle flight.

I know to love, I know to give,

I know what it takes to live.

Life takes a U-turn,

Isn’t wrong what they say.

If there are a million shades of pink,

There are also few shades of grey.

I was tried, I was tested,

Until now I've never rested.

I was bruised, I was battered,

But my spirit has never shattered.

I may see brighter mornings,

I may see brightest nights,

I may see new horizons,

And kiss newer heights.

But some of those dark moments,

That've torn my being apart,

Whatever I do to leave them behind,

Will forever be in my heart.
