Showing up each day

parched throat, long ways

tired knees and a hunched back

and yet, showing up each day. Signs of reward?

Nay.

Distress calls and heartaches.

Thirsty, yet showing up each day.

And then the clouds rumble, and gently pitter patter into rain. Drinking the first sweet drop; today is good.” Glad I showed up each day.
