Shipwrecked
By Sara Maria Bastine
Green mist over the endless blue,
A starless sky.
How magnificent was ye Karve,
Plunging through the tide like charging horses.
And on the oak-layed deck stood he,
The young seaman.
With his eyes of smug and chiselled chest,
He mocked the great big blue.
'Tempt me not young lad,
For ‘tis my breath that stirs ye waves
And brings your children to the shore.’
But stood his ground did he, the young seaman.
Now the sky cried bloody red
And waves of agony pummeled in.
'Behold my glorious wrath young mariners, watch as I shatter your precious Karve'.
The winds howled like fiery ghosts
And the raindrops gushed down to their death.
Straying from it’s course the magnificent ship,
Now gaped at it’s terrible fate.
‘Wherefore thou unleash my fury young lad?
For I have drowned every last crewmate. ‘
And now it was the seaman's turn.
‘I watched him close his eyes and I charged forward with all my might'.
But ye daughter threw herself upon him and saved him from his terrible fate.
Her gargled plea kept ringing as I swallowed her body slowly.
He watched in horror and cursed his own mouth.
Alas! The young seaman, plummeted to
His death, did he.
