Shed And Cast

By Fathima Baisin

The morsel of banana,

hidden so secretly in her bower

inside the black, shrunken peel,

abandoned in the street-side,

Once teared open by someone with clawed nails,

Once bitten by someone with thirsty lips,

Once thrown away by someone with derision.

She lies within her twitched, withered peel,

whatever little left of her,

unnoticed by anyone,

picked up by no one.

because,

Who has not seen a banana shed and cast, right?
