She: The World
By Mannat Kaushik
"oh! she is fat!
oh! she is too big!!
what? is she for real?
oh! get out of my face!!
oh! she's so pale and yellow and..."
and, the toxicity rises; and not just that,
comparison, oh lord! with who more,
than herself, the one she should most adore!
she crumbles, hits back,
wide awake in the night of a storm.
she, confused, chooses a rose.
its thorns choose to bleed, her and hers.
she stays like that,
"the woman of my dreams"
oh really?
pretentious...
one side of the venomous predicament,
the fluid flows like raging fire,
an anomaly in the commotion,
non! just a part of us now!
that strangling authenticity,
that choking beauty,
one rose without thorns in here,
well oh! she is a show off?!
no no! she's not!
stand up,
get going,
forethoughting about what?
comparison, ostracizing, shushing? or shun?
living in a shade, but with no leaves to block the sun?
stand up,
get going,
better as one,
better as one.
yes, we are...
better as one!
she, her world,
her self, her her,
she is what she is,
because of the women of, and in her.
them, they, the hers,
that raised her to be,
what she is, the wave,
that 'the' that rules thee seas, lord!
but a wave, is not alone,
the bearer of the sea.
one finger in the first,
doesn't hone the hand.
strong we stand,
powerful we will,
be the birds of the feather,
that will flock together.
united, we empower,
we are better together, with each other <3
