SHE

She gives me sense and sensibility,

sensing when I am anxious, granting peace. Her eyes pierce through my very soul, bringing me, immobile, to my knees.

Her smile holds a power so profound,

it traps me in dimensions kept concealed. An unparalleled beauty, out of this world, sparking currents through my quiet shield. Once, love played a game of hide-and-seek; I sought it, but the shadow turned to run. Now, looking at her, I am lost for words, yet she pulls me into a world newly begun. She breathed life into my dying space, rebirthing a heart that time had left behind. She invades my thoughts like a beautiful drug, hooking and unhooking the gears of my mind. Then reality hits like a sudden frost,

leaving me to wonder if I am worthy of this scene. For I feel like a wanderer walking the earth, while she reigns high above, an uncrested queen. A glimpse of heaven sent to this fractured place, a heavy world where bitter fruits are grown. Yet she is a dream I pray never to wake from- a rose blooming daily, defying the thorns.

Her voice soothes me like a quiet melody, harmonising perfectly with a guitar’s chords. Her scent carries hints of lavender and chamomile, a beautiful weakness that strips away my guard. For so long I thirsted for a love like this, a deep hunger that her presence has quenched. She is a sovereign who could easily go to war, leaving armies paralysed by her elegance. I am no noble, no squire, nor a knight,

merely a traveller from a different world. Where blacksmiths of old were famous for swords, I am a wordsmith, who only forges words. A perfect blend of Athena and Aphrodite, she is wise, beautiful, and utterly sublime. She is the destination I have journeyed toward, travelling restlessly through space and time. When I feel unworthy, she becomes my peace, reminding me that even outcasts stand for a cause. She is the thief who stole into my locked heart, leaving me to whisper, "My soul is yours."
