Shards

My mind is glass—too thin to hold, A shell of the woman I’d been.

My heart is ice, no warmth, just cold, As I lose sight of everything I’ll be. I stand amongst the destruction, My eyes emotionless as ever.

Who am I to care about other’s dejection, When they stood by and watched me suffer. There’s nothing left for them to take, Nothing valuable inside me.

Just betrayal, guilt and untamed rage, Which soon they’ll have the chance to see. I bide my time till that day comes, When I’ll show them how much I hurt, Because even I was complete once, Before I buried my shards in the dirt.
