Sensitive
By Dr. Shruti Pandey
A sensitive soul she is, they say
A heart so fragile
And a mind so tender.
A brilliant facade she put up forth
Her secret being what lay beneath
The cries unheard
The fears within
The scars she carries
of her battles within...
She put up walls
To guard her soul
Creating a dream...
The perfect illusion
Yet the mystique
Never fades away
It draws some in
And drives some away
Still she waits with a heavy heart
For someone to see through her facade
To know her...
Truly know her for what she is
Crushing those walls
She has built around herself
To wrap His soul around hers
And shield her from herself
And from all the uncertainties
For once she wants to know
What it feels like to be free
And then He came
And caught her off guard
Making her believe
In all the dreams she had ever had
To him she bared her soul
And surrendered herself in all completeness
The broken pieces of her soul came together
And all her scars began to fade
She finally knew...
What it felt like to be free
Liberated from all the weight
What lay in store was something else
So short lived was her dream
What intrigued him once
Was now a burden...
A weight he could not carry
Gone was her knight
And all her dreams
Had now come to a standstill
She gathered herself
And put up her facade yet again
But the aura was different...
Her scars now ran deeper
Her walls even stronger
And her smile so sinister
And when they ask
'A sensitive soul she was', he says
'A heart so fragile
And a mind so tender'
