Semicolon

Updated: Feb 5, 2024

Goodbye to the efforts that were in vain,

to the whispered hopes lost in the rain.

Goodbye to the laughs that don't bring joy,

and the moments that couldn't fill this void.

Farewell to the people wanting more of me,

but instead, they found wounds and agony.

Goodbye to those who caused my heart to ache,

leaving behind pain, more than I can take.

Yet, this is not a note of despair or doom;

it's a pause, a semicolon, not the end's gloom.

Nothing truly ends, it carries on,

a continuation, a story yet to be drawn.

A tale unfolding with a new setting's grace,

where fresh faces emerge, each at their own pace.

And as the pages turn, a different person I'll be,

with new wounds to bear, a different 'me.'

The scars may change, but the story thrives,

like a phoenix's flight, as it bravely dives.

Into a future adventure, unknown yet near,

embracing the journey, no more dwelling in tears.
