Secret Tales

I kneel on a bank of soft grey sand

A whispering brook close at hand

My tears fall silent and still

My quiet sobs carried by the wind.

The flowers tell a tale of old

The trees whisper words once told

Footsteps on paths, once of gold

Caves where laughter echoed bold.

The light wonders on skeleton coasts

Where waves crash on broken stones

Ragged edges like daggers tear the water

As they run once again to the shore that falters.

The air is heavy with moments lived

Time is holding to the forgotten thrill

The sky throbs with words spoken

Moments so close but so soon forgotten.

So loud is the silence in my heart

So heavy the burden of a beloved past

So lost the words so full of love

Only I roam in this old part.

These secret tales of life unfaltered

Paths of a journey lost in the waters

A love hidden in words unspoken

Friendship’s coves drowned in tidals.

Can I tell to the trees of lovely sins

Can I share with the moors my tears’ din

May I ask the sky for my memories to hold

May I whisper to the wind a tale not to be told.
