Sea Or You
By Divya Devarajan
I call for none.. I crave for none
I seek for none..I fall for none
Then why do I miss, like a part of me unfound
Like a restless soul, I come in search of you
You..not just the person, it's the warmth
The wind, the fingers, the waves
The smile, the vastness, the sound, the saltiness
I reach your toes, and engulf my barefoot in sand
I feel it in me, I've never seeked anyone more!
What's it in your eyes? Pearl or coffee beans
I seem to swim in it, even when I'm far ashore
You lie with your vastness, naked and bare for my weight-
of my dread, desire, dismal and dreams
You see me as no-one does, and I face you
like I would do with anyone, then
you seem to take in, however much I place it on
you open your waves like I'm the only one
At times I wonder if it's not just me,
-who devour you, abide you and surrender to you
Do you show your different scapes to others as well?
that they place their piece on the guarded space of your heart
and still you take it, to the mushy islands in you,
then place those in those oyester shells for long-
to let it be pearls, to make it an ornament
but I know it's just yours, you don't share it no-more
Just a sight I feel it takes me, to have you touch me or hug me a bit
To lend me your scent, the sacred frontier
To quench my thirst and swim in your thoughts
You tilt my world to straighten again,
You show me ways to mend it again
You tame me and you feed me your wit
I loose me in you, and you find me again.
